YOUTh to youth

Youth to Youth is a community-based drug prevention and youth leadership program. The goal is to encourage young people to make positive choices and to live free of tobacco, alcohol and other drugs.

Youth to Youth (Y2Y) focuses on four components:

  • community service

  • personal growth

  • positive activities

  • drug and alcohol education

During meetings, students plan community service projects and after school activities, and enjoy team building exercises. Students seeking leadership opportunities may join the “Board of Directors,” comprised of students, to help guide the final decisions that need to be made for the larger group.

Joining Youth to Youth

  • All students in grades 6, 7, and 8 are welcome to join at any time. Simply come to a meeting.

  • Y2Y is funded by WYC, and no payment is required. Students are only asked to pay for the activities and events that require chaperones, transportation, and tickets such as the Halloween trip to an amusement park or the winter ski trips. We do appreciate donations.

  • If your child is interested in joining Y2Y, please have them visit the Y2Y Schoology page using access code - 56KV-8DKG-4SF6N. Forms, meeting schedules and event information will be posted there throughout the year.

Parents and students can email Tanya Leonard with questions, or students can visit room 133A.

Color Run

Runners from the Middlebrook School Community enjoy getting sprayed with colorful powder as they round the fun run course and are covered in color (cornstarch) by the time they reach the finish line. The grand finale is a giant ‘poof’ of colors!
